Prank calls…

Back when I was younger, a buddy of mine was getting married we had been drinking all day and wound up back at his empty new house at about 2am polishing of some bottles of god knows what. Well we soon got bored and decided to start prank-calling friends. Pretty soon we hit on a winning combination, we called people up pretending to be a radio station running a competition. You would think people would figure out that a radio show doesn’t run a competition at 2am but obviously there I a built in switch in the human brain that ignores reality when someone mentions winning a car!
The deal was that we would ask the sucker 3 questions to win the car, the first two were really tough but regardless of the answer given we would all yell and hoot and congratulate them for getting it right. Then the final question would be a real dumb ass question, like how many playing cards in a pack and we would all moan and grown when they got it "wrong" and then hang up! Later we progressed in to letting them win the car and having them hold while we get their details and then hanging up. We soon run out of friends to call but one of the guys had a contact list for the rugby team he was captain of, that gave us a couple dozen more victims…. I’m sure that the next practice session was a lot of fun for my friend as people put two and two together.
Finally we called up the station that we had been spoofing all night, one of the guys worked for the phone company and had a formula to get the private numbers based on the main number and we got the guy on air. We told him of our prank and had him play a request for the groom to be just to get rid of us.
