hogwash!

There is nothing really worth blogging about today except the Schiavo case and I think everyone knows my take on that subject. I am thoroughly disgusted with the legislative and the executive branches of the federal and state government. Once the parents have gone down all the new avenues that have been opened to them are exhausted, the UN? Maybe Cofee Annan can sign in a law that gives the UN court of human rights jurisdiction. This whole thing is just insane.

My brain's been fried since last week. What's been going on since then? I'm going to read it from multiple sources myself, but I'd like to hear what you think about the latest developments.

Thanks Noonie,
I'm trying not to look at Terri's case from any kind of legislative, judicial, or executive point of view. I'm trying to see it from a medical point of view. The article you showed me was a nice read, but I tend to look for more reasons than that. It seems to me that the piece was a little subjective. I'm trying to find explanations on either a biochemical or physiologic level. So far, it seems like everything I've read is based on observations of reactions. I'm not ready to say let her live or die yet.
What I will say is I totally oppose starving her to death. I say if death is chosen for her, give her a lethal injection.

Jethro, I apreciate your concerns regarding the medical claims made in this case, and I can certainly shed no light on that for you, however I do trust my court system to review medical investigations and make a determination based on that information that may or may not be available to me. 21 courts now have sided with the husband, they have rejected all claims by the parents that the medical prognisis is erroneous.

I do agree with you about the lethal injection, in fact the only people who would disagree with you are the same people bitching and moaning that she is being starved to death. To me it is absurd that they are trying to play on peoples heartstrings about the method of death, if they really cared then they would be calling for a lethal injection too.
