Putting aside the problems with my daughter for a moment (Especially as I am happier about that whole mess than I have been for a few weeks) I have been enjoying my family being around me.... ....Here is a summery of what we have done over the past few days:-
Saturday, Huge long walk with the family, to a park where the kids waded and collected freshwater muscle shells. We saw a snake and numerous lizards and frogs. That evening the guys went off to the bass pro shop in Orlando, My stepfather hunts and he must have thought he had died and gone to heaven when he saw this shop. He and I had been there the day before for 4 hours, we spent another 3 this time…. :-) finally a shop where the women have to sit down on the bench and feign interest.
Sunday, was going to be SeaWorld but we had some unseasonable rain so we went to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa instead. There were a lot of others with the same idea, but we did have a great time. The kids ended up playing in the water park bit at the end and got drenched… great fun, although he mums might not agree.
Monday, I had to work the morning, but the rest went to St. Pete pier. I joined them at 2pm and spent the afternoon fishing for Pinfish and seabass. We only caught small ones but we pulled enough in to keep the kids entertained. All but 2 were catch and release the other 2 fell victim to a persistent pelican.
Tuesday, Work again but in the afternoon we went to the beach. We swam in the ocean for about an hour and then beach combed while the kids built a sand fort. Those of us that swam got a little chilled and had to have the heater on in the van on the way home. This is Florida and we had the heater on…what a novelty.
I have no idea what is planned for today, but whatever we are doing I’ll be there too.
