Dollar abuse case

I don't know if you have heard the details of this case but for me it has hit a little close to home. about five miles away to be precise. In fact a friend of ours lives on the same street as the Dollars did. Their child played with one of the children that were not abused.

The abuse of course is awful, and I can't say enough about how much I hope they both hang, but what has really got me astounded is that only 5 of the 7 children were abused. The other two were treated well. It begs the question why.

In the three bedroom house they lived in each of the unabused kids had their own room, the other 5 slept in the master bedroom closet. The 2 were well fed and developed normally, the 5 were grossly malnourished and severely undersized, so much so that my friend thought they were aged between 5 and 8 instead of 13 to 17. The two were allowed out to play the 5 were rarely ever seen outside the home.

So why the 5, but not the 2? None of the kids were mentally or physically disabled, all just normal children. It was not because of sex, the 2 were a boy and a girl, the 5 2 girls and 3 boys. It was not age, the 2 were of the same age range as the 5, it was not racial and only two of the abused children were related by blood. So WHY?

It kinda makes it worse, because if it was all of the children then you could just put it down to inappropriate parents with a screw or three loose, but that they managed to bring up the other 2 (and another daughter) normally means they were capable parents that just picked out these 5 for abuse. It beggars belief.

That's so sad. I hope those parents get what they deserve.

Wierder still, they just refused visitation to an elder sibling (25, married with a child) after the sibling admitted being involved in the abuse of the children, She didn't seem to see what was wrong with holding her brother down while they went to work on him.

Did I mention they removed nails with pliers and hit the childrens feet with hammers? no nothing wrong there...
