Recently I have rekindled my love for Cricket. It is difficult to keep up with the sport when there is zero coverage on the TV here, but reading reports on the games recently have overflowed my nostalgia cup and I am following the current test match with much interest. Americans, who hate the very concept of a draw, dispite my best efforts can not comprehend a game that can last 5 days without a winner so for them I reproduce this gem of litriture
You have two sides, one out in the field and one in, in the field. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out. When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men are out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

And here I thought cricket is what you hear when a joke falls flat.
Hello? (echoes) Hello?
*cue the sound of crickets*
Cricket is a great sport, you can put it on the TV and off and on watch it not for an hour, not 4 hours, not even a day but an entire week. It's high scoring 300 in an innings is no big deal and there are stats galore, I don't realy know why it hasnt taken off over here, I mean they have meal breaks at Lunch and Tea.
Strange, must have used a buzz word!
crickets buzz? Hmmm.
Did you know, I have a blog, too. Heh heh. Oh, yes, you knew that, it's linked over there on your sidebar.
Errrr... yeah ...right... needless to say my cricket experiance differs somewhat from yours! More interested in googlies, catching balls in the slips and bowlers delivering a full toss.... I'm not doing myself any favours here am I?
While we are on the subject we can't talk about Cricket without the classic commentry goof: -
The bowler's Holding, the batsman's Willey.... (Michael Holding bowling to Peter Willey) and for those Americans reading that don't know what a willy is... well look it up.
True to form it all came down to the wire, England needed one more out for victory from the last 3 overs Bowlers Lee and McGrath held out for the draw.
that clears it up.
holy crap, redfred, there are TWO baby fish now. TWO! OMG!
I'm such a dork.
No, wait, what the hell. THERE ARE THREE baby fish. I got pictures of them. I hope they turn out. What in the heck is going on in that tank in there??????
