things
So I guess It is all in the open now, so I can reveal that which hitherto I have only alluded to, in open blog world… I am to be a grandfather…. And despite myself I am pretty OK with it. It wasn't a surprise, after what we have been through with our daughter over the past year, it was practically expected. It was however still quite a shock. I am going to be a grandfather…. I'm 36….. I'm not supposed to be a grandfather at 36! There is no way I consider myself anywhere close to grandfather age, I was telling my 53 year old mother…. Mum, how can I be a grandfather???? My 4 year old is going to be an aunt…. Hell my wife is even convinced we have stopped having children yet! Btw, the 4 year old doesn't want to be an ant…. She doesn't even like ants… they bite…. "no dear…." It is still a long way off but we are starting to get used to the idea.
On other issues, my dog had a seizure last night… he has epilepsy but this is the first time in a year he has had an episode. When he has a fit it is really scary, he is a big dog and he lashes out with his teeth and is completely oblivious to what is happening, the temptation is to try an hold him but we have to just stand back until he stops. In the past when he has one he has another and another and another, last time the gave us some valium to give him, 9 full strength valium, 2 Phenobarbital and 3cc of KBr and he went right to sleep! Thank goodness for that. We will be upping his daily dose as of today.
I also found out, while I am typing this I passed my CISSP certification… I am pretty happy about that! I am now a certified information systems security professional…. Makes the trips to Washington and New York well worthwhile.

Congrats on passing your certification test. :)
Nature does have a way of preparing people for babies. I'm sure by the time the wee one enters the world you're going to be one huge sap over it. I can't wait to see the pictures. Of the baby AND you wearing your pants like a grandpa (up over your belly button).
I'm sorry about your dog. That's always scary when your pets have trouble.
Thanks for the congrats. I will be well ready for the baby when it comes, And Grandpappy is what I'm going by. The dog seems to be fine, if a little spaced out on his new drug levels, but that should settle out in a couple of days. Last night we wer discussing names for the baby, My daughter likes Cullam and Maddoc for a boy... lets hope she has a girl!
Holy Man!
I mean... Holy Gramps! Wow. Congratulations, Fred . . really! I know you're not ready - - and WHO fancies themselves a grandparent at the age of 36?? But, really, it's wonderful. Or at least, it WILL be wonderful once everyone gets used to the idea :)
Glad to see you posting again, too.
Hope your dog is ok, too, Grandpappy! :)
