Sad to say that thanksgiving this year ended in a dispute between my family and that of one of my wifes cousins. I am thankful that at least that I shall never again have to suffer the company of our cousin's psychotic husband.
Well thanks to the wonders of Email things have escalated somewhat, now I am pretty sure that the husband is lost to me, looks like the cousin is lost too (and their kids) and people are starting to take sides, which was not the intention but what is done is done and I still have no regrets. fortunatly for me the whole family has sided with us, but I feel guilty that the cousin will now feel alienated by her own brothers, sisters and parents. It's one thing for us to burn the bridges, its a whole different story when her sister tells her she is no longer welcome in her home either. Having said that there was some amount of bad blood before we stired the pot.
I avoided arguing altogether (surprise, surprise), by taking a nap in front of the fireplace. Not that there was any arguing. Mostly just Tony's uncle wanting to talk to me about tractor museums and his dog. Yippee! Sleeping is better.

Sounds like a normal family gathering to me!
