Ding dong the bells are gonna chime!

OK, so I guess you are all wondering how he wedding went ? well there were some last minute drama(s) but then it wouldn’t be my life if everything went smoothly!
I am going to address the dramas in subsequent posts, but in this one I am going to focus on the actual wedding.
Basically it was a truly awesome wedding, we were so lucky to have so many fabulous people involved in the day, not just well meaning people, but truly talented individuals who really helped the day go with Pizzazz.
My daughter looked stunning, I am sorry I do not have any photos yet but I will post them as soon as I do. Her dress was he one my wife married me in, modified to suit her style. It was off the shoulder but with long sleeves and a lovely train, not too long but very elegant. The Groom also looked very handsome in his Tux, flanked by his groomsmen and the bridesmaids (and the flower girls and ring bearer). I proudly walked her down the isle, it was a great feeling, better than being the Groom!
The Groom’s father is the pastor of the church, so he was also there waiting to conduct the service and he had them stand facing the audience which I thought was a vast improvement over looking at the back of their heads. Before we arrived he had given his son a blessing that by all accounts was very touching. At this point I need to give credit to the Church wedding organizer, she was fantastic. She kept her head while everyone else was running around like a headless chicken. She dealt with all the problems that cropped up in such a professional manner I don’t think even the people in the wedding party realized she was making changes on the fly. I can honestly say she made the church service, her assistant who worked the lights and the sound system also did a wonderful job, keeping all the various music and vocals sounding perfectly, speaking of which we also had two of my wife’s co-workers sing at the wedding, they brought the house done. I have known these people for years and had no idea they could even sing, let alone put on a performance that sent chills up and down my spine. Honestly we could not have paid people to sing as well as they did. I still have the song going in my head. Comic relief was duly supplied by my 3 year old , a flower girl, who pretty much froze when she saw everyone turn to look at her as she walked down the isle, she got to the front of the church without throwing any petals then realized this and started throwing them everywhere. She made it up onto the stage but then threw a fit and I had to go retrieve her.
Everyone commented that it was a marvelous wedding, I am so thankful to al those who participated and made it what it was. I’ll recount the reception and the "afters" party later but for now I have work to do!!!

we lost the ring bearer the weekend before, had to fill with an emergency spare. He had those crappy shoes they give you to wear with a rented tux and by the end of the service he was on the verge of tears hopping from foot to foot and before we ate at the reception he was in his civy clothes

That's great that it went so well. Was your daughter happy with the wedding? Are they taking a honeymoon anywhere?

That's so funny that your little one froze. I can't wait to see pictures. :)

Thanks for the comments, the bride and groom have returned from a short honeymoon at a beach front hotel, I think they have a more extencive trip planned for when she gets out of school. They very much enjoyed their day, I still don't have any digital images to post, I have some hard copies of the reception but have not had time to scan them yet.

I promise as soon as I have some I will post them.
